Car insurance question.

My car that I just bought about two months ago got slammed into last night by some woman who had been drinking and is pretty much totaled. Ive still been driving my old car, this new one I registered but I didnt not yet put insurance one it, its just been sitting infront of my house since I bought it.

The woman who hit it agreed to take the fault and is going to report everything to her insurance. Since she will report it as her fault, will her insurance still cover my car even tho I didnt have insurance on it?

PS. Since I know someone is going to bring this up...Yes I didnt have insurance on my car but I have not been driving it. It does not get driven and just sits infront of my house. Yes I realize that I should still have put insurance on it since its outside but oh well, I didnt.

I don't understand the question. You just put a question mark on the end of something that wasn't a question?

Shouldn't park it on the street without insurance...

But I don't see any reason why she wouldn't be responsible just because your car isn't insured.

uhhh it looks fine to me but here;

Woman hit my car and is at fault.
She reported the accident as her fault.
Will my non-insured car be covered by her insurance since she was at fault?

It will cover it, but may not cover the entire value of your vehicle. Which means you should sue for damages since she was drunk. Did you have the police come file a report?

I'm sure it will be fine. She broke your property, and she has to pay. You were not driving it, so why do you need insurance? If someone came by and stole your car, well, you would be out of luck.

Thanks guys, her insurance called me today and left a message saying they were going to pay for everything so I should be fine.

Anyone have any tips for dealing with a claims agent? Ive heard bad stories. Her insurance is Geico, anything I should know about dealing with an insurance company? I want to make sure I get my cars BB value and not its damaged value. When my friend got it, the other persons insurance only paid him the KBB value of his car MINUS the cost of the damages done to it. I dont want the same thing to happen to me.

That does not sound right, what happened to your friend.

Anyhow, treat them like people - we are people, the ones handling your claim, you know - you might be able to get them to give you rental while the car is being repaired, or at least, get what you call "loss of use"; they might give you money for being inconvenienced.

Admittedly, they might not have it, but hey it's worth a shot, right? Hopefully you got a report filed when the accident happened - otherwise it might make the procedure harder for the rep - and by the way, "loss of consortium", " pain and suffering", etc. only apply if you were injured.
