skidded out on ice and did about $1500 of damage to my car. that's only $500 more than the $1K deductible.

would you claim it or keep the perfect record for yourself ?
 
Sucks to hear. Chances are that your insurance would go up by more than the $500 if you file a claim. I noticed from your profile that you live in Oregon though. Be aware that $1500 in total damages is the cutoff where above that you have to file an accident claim with the DMV and the accident would appear on your MVR.
 
thanks, vic, i'm actually not in oregon, it was a one car acident, and the amount was actually $1350 + tax + a rental so i thinki made it under the amount
