so apparently, i just found out that my car has been damaged, probably some idiot who did the hit-and-run.

i dont want to get insurance to pay for it, as the raise in insurance won't be worth it. so, i was wondering what the best way to fix it myself is.

as you can see, theres 2 spots where the paint is completely chipped away, the rest are paint scratches. i was thinking of just buying the same type of paint and covering it with a smooth layer, but im not sure if its that simple.

thanks in advance.

*update*

i bought ScratchX and used it to fix all the white scuff marks, its virtually invisible to the eye now. for the chipped paint, i used the dealership paint and then polished it, not as good as new but close to 85% new. its a minor thing, so i didnt want to spend $300 for it. besides, knowing my luck the same thing will happen to me next week. :(

thanks a lot for the replies and suggestions.

check the TL forums..
you can probbaly purchase a whole new bumper for less than it would cost to repaint the thing.

Rubbing or polishing compound along with Duplicolor touch-up paint could probably make it almost unnoticeable from a distance.

you can buy touch up paint at the dealer, but it wont be good as new

you can probably get it repainted at a body shop for like 200 bucks
