why not wait a day till they are "open" and tell them to take off the extra fee?

He'd probably just get hit with a "storage" fee if the car sat there overnight anyway.

$433 is a ridiculous amount of money.

Should have used your magic "ATOT Credit Card"!
CC Co. would have paid you $250 for your $125 fee!

I would have done this if the guy would have mentioned that there was a "after-hours" fee in the first place. That's what really gets me.

When I talked to him on the phone he could have said, "Sure, pick it up today. Keep in mind that we are closed today so you will be charged $125 extra". To which, I would have asked how much the overnight fee was.

The overnight fee was $50, so if I would have picked it up Monday I still would have saved some money. Since I was there I just paid it and left.

That's the difference between anger and true hatred. Anger passes, but a burning deep hatred can fuel one through a long patient wait. It just depends on how committed the OP is to justice. People die all the time, it's nice when they die for a good reason.
OCD's a big help in keeping the grudge fires burning.

I can wait 10 years before I get even.

The real crime here is that they aren't breaking any laws. That's what this post is all about.

I get it. I mean, even if they are pissing people off, who cares? They're making tons of money. I'd be curious to see some of the state laws.

What if they said the towing charge was $1500?

I asked him that before we began arguing. Just as we were shooting the shit.

He said that state laws prevent it. So there is some limit, somewhere. But when you tack on a bunch of bullshit fees like the one I got, the sky is the limit it seems.

If they're smart white trash they've probably got cameras installed for just such an occasion.

I know I would. :awe:

Yeah gotta make sure there are no cameras

If there are twist your ankle on their shit hole property

They pulled this kinda shit on one of my old roommates crazy armenian gang friends in college. They went in at night and smashed up a bunch of the trucks as payback, so yeah. Karma is a bitch sometimes.

I normally don't condone property damage, but that's a little funny.

Towing companies are the biggest scam artists out there. I really have NO idea how they are allowed to charge the fees that they do and get away with it, totally criminal imho.
