There's a San Diego PD golf cart thing that always goes up and down La Jolla Shores Dr. to hand out parking tickets, and there are 2 security guards posted from UCSD that walks up and down the length of SIO (Scripps Institution of Ocenography, where i work). Also, just last week, SIO just posted additional 7-am to 5pm guards along the SIO areas. I was trying to complain to UCSD about this, but they said that this strip of road is out of their jurisdiction, even though on both sides of the road, UCSD facilities (SIO) are present throughout much of the length of the road.
Yet, my car still got broken into.
just a thought. Ya, i didn't lose much, but a ton of people work @ SIO and use the parking areas in and around the road. I lost around ~$300 in personal property, and $300 in repairs. I wonder if I can just do a small claims for $600.
If you legal dudes say it's not possible, then I won't pursue it. I have no experience in this, and maybe I should just give it a shot just for experience purposes. I ahve plenty of time the next two weeks anyways.
EDIT: after a brief period of thinking, and comments, i won't pursue since I have no shot.
EDIT2: as for insurance, my deductible is $500, so why report?
