You know that the lights in many cars stay on for a few seconds until the system is fully up, as well as some come on if the gas is almost empty, which it is. So the CEL's from that picture are inconclusive. According to the above post, it needs an oil change.

Yep it was the CEL :)

I think thats normal if the key is just turned on for a moment to check the instrument panel. My CEL comes on for about 5 seconds and then goes off when that happens. Airbag light is also one which is normal for a non running car with the key in it and turned to on or accessory.

ABS SRS and CEL lights take a couple seconds to go off. The real FAIL is shopping for that Valium on wheels.

Normally you will see airbag, seatbelt, battery, etc. And I see none of those except seatbelt (as expected for someone taking pics), so I am thinking that the car was running for at least the several seconds it takes to turn all those off.

There is the wrench AND the CEL. Surely they are not redundant.
lol. my post=Fail.

Would the car be running or been running with the temp gauge and fuel gauge complete at Zero?

Maybe the key was in the "On" position (not the accessory position) in order to open the windows and sunroof, but the engine wasn't actually running. Several of my Honda's dash lights will stay on for a while if I put my key in that position without the engine running, although I can't recall if the service or check engine lights were among them.

sure....if you just turned the car after letting it sit over night, it is going to be cold.

Also, you have to go below the E in order to be empty in most cars.

Are you serious? Look at the tachometer.

The force is just not strong in this thread. The engine is running.

The CEL is real.
