Car & Driver Comparo: Sustainable Sports Sedans

Too bad C&D couldn't see past the crappy Bridgestone RE92's on the Legacy...

edit:
Sorry Audi, Subaru, and Volvo.... Honda just gave us hundreds of thousands in advertising dollars!
Pretty much. I've test-driven all these cars but the Volvo and C&D is completely whack in their reviews. They even contradict themselves on numerous occasions, especially if you compare comments in the article to the test numbers to actual points given in the scoring system.

As I'm currently in the market for a car of this type, that was a good article for background information.
Would the Mazda 6 be considered a competitor to these cars at all?

I want a TSX badly, but i doubt i can afford it this next time around....

More like C&D is still firmly in Honda's pocket. For example, note the comments about the Subaru's "gotta have it" factor in the article, then note how they scored it for "gotta have it" in the final ranking. Pardon me if I sound biased, but that article was a joke, but then again C&D has been a joke for a long time (and only the blind masses don't know it).
Not to say that the TSX isn't a nice car. They just treated the Subaru very unfairly, with some serious fudging in the final scorings and some outright lies in the comments. And C&D most likely did this because Subaru doesn't pay for ad space in C&D, while Honda does.

I finally test drove a 5-speed Legacy 2.5GT (non-Limited) today. I frankly love its notchy, tight shifter and heavy-action clutch. Feels like there is some quality there!

Too bad I knew about 10x more about the car than the new salesman...poor guy!

C&D used to be BMW's b*tch... 😀

I'm new to this...

But doesn't surprise me considering the two sales-reps who have assisted me at two different dealers were gay. The first very openly so, and the second...shall I say...just an assumption based on his voice.

:wine:

Audi 1.8T shouldn't even be there, since it's got no power to weight ratio worth mentioning. Slow as hell. dito on the tsx 🙂

Anyway, the link is down, so I can't see anything. I'd take the legacy or the volvo, without having read anything mentioned by C&D. They're total whores for a lot of their car reviews. They will pitt a 325i against a ferrari and say that the BMW felt better on the road.

the TSX is fine but i wonder how it can match up against legacy's 2.5 turbo boxer.

IMO volvo might be a bit soft and the audi has great styling but its reliability reputation ain't so great.

oh well who isn't biased all the time... motor trend leans towards american and even topgear leans towards british

oh yes i missed topgear!

the BMW probably does feel better on the road... to the driver at least. i wouldn't want to drive a ferrari every day. oh wait i mean i do...

Gay or not as good as the TSX...I drove a Legacy 2.5GT 5-speed yesterday and it's still my leading choice.

Dealer said they would install a sunroof for $1499, but I think I'm willing to wait and see if a sunroof becomes available as an option for 2006 non-Limited models.

not really, it's priced about 7k less. the TSX is a luxury accord. the mazda6 is a competitor w/ the accords, not the TSXs.
