So today I tried to get out of my car, and the door didn't unlock... I have automatic doors, and only the driver's side door had the problem. The rest were locking/unlocking fine.

Any ideas? 1997 Hyundai Sonata btw.

Was it making any noises like it was trying ro unlock but jsut wasn't or did it not sound like it was doing anything? Could just be the motor in there died.

Did you drive with the windows up or down? Is there a crack in your windshield?

That's probabaly the reason. But in all seriousness, do you not want to take it to a shop, is it budging but not opening, any movement on the door at all?

It makes noises like it's trying to unlock, just doesn't. And there is no movement in the door at all, it's stuck in the "locked" position. And no, I couldn't manually unlock it, I can't pull the lock up.

I'll probably take it to the shop tomorrow but just wanted to see if there were any ideas.

How the weather in your area? cold?

My old car had that during the winter sometimes... moisture gets inside the door and freezes the lock mechanism... sounds like the same problem with your car, the locking mechanism is stuck somehow

unhook the motor. it's probably jammed. should be able to lock and unlock manually once it's unhooked.
