The keyless remote that came with my 2000 toyota solara has started acting wierd.
It will work fine for a couple of days then quit working, then start working again.
has been doing this off and on the last 10 days or so. Changed the battery and it didn't help the problem.
thx

Find the circuit board for the locking control. Make sure there's good contact/no corrosion on the plug connectors or failed electronics. When my '00 started acting up this way, it was a blown capacitor on the lock control PCB.

Same thing here on my old Galant. One day a window just decided to not go down anymore. I found a DIY fix online which required me to take out my door switch, open it up -- and I saw an obvious break in a circuit trace on the board.

A little conductive ink on that bastard fixed it right up. 🙂

If its the remote acting wierd I wouldnt think it has anything to do with the door control PCB in the car itself. Unless the doors are acting this way with or without the remote.

First thing i would do is probably try yet another battery, just in case you got a faulty or dead one, if a second battery still doesn't help, perhaps its the car's receiver... No spare remotes? I got 2 with my 99 Camry...

My G6 had the same problem with both remotes until they quit working. Replaced the battery and still had problems. Turns out the connection for the battery was loose and needed to be soldiered in place. Was really odd because when I replaced the battery everything seemed tight but when I opened it back up I was able to loosen the connection. Anyway, both remotes work fine after doing this.
