Wow... stupid people and a state that turns a blind eye to a business defrauding consumers. That's a nasty combination.

why doesnt chevy do something? damn talk about putting a black mark on your product.

oh and the guy who got his car STOLEN by the dealer because he got a good deal i hope called the cops and made a stolen vehicle report. :|

Edit: just watched the news report on this. WHY IN THE F*CK doesnt the DA charge the sales guy and manager with Grand theft auto???

either something vital is missing in this report or the district attorney is drawing salary from bill heard...

i don't know..maybe because they have not broken the law? so the DA has NOTHING he can do.

this is a civil matter. the guy has to take them to civil court.

Aside from stealing the truck back, that is. You could probably make a case for the other ones as harrassment too.

while it should be theft and the dealership should get nailed for it they wont.

I seem to remember in the last thread about this. we had replies from the DA saying its a breach of contract and not theft.

Personally i think they should really look into this dealership. My family has been into car dealerships for years. they tried there best to be fair. heck most of the other dealers that my family knows are honest and fair.

sure they do there best to make a buck but do not resort to tactics that this dealership does. i would even guess most dealers in the US do not go as far as they do.

From reading the article I think the issue is that the dealership lets them take the car without completing the financing. Then a few weeks later they claim the financing didn't go through and technically the vehicle is still theirs. While very despicable and immoral, I don't think it is illegal. Most contracts are not considered valid if the purchasing party does not perform; meaning they don't pay. If the financing isn't completed, the dealership hasn't been paid.

That is not true for the truck taken out of the guys driveway, he paid cash for the truck and they just took it back and said they sold it to him for too little and he needed to pay $10,000 more for it

If it was a financing issue I could see it being a civil matter, but the fact that he paid for it in cash, everyone signed the contracts, it should be his truck, I don't understand how they could possibly get away without it being GTA.

I mean imagine walking into bestbuy coming out of the store with a DVD and then having an employee come grab it out of your hands and say, sorry you will have to pay an additional $5 for that, I don't like how much I sold it to you for
