I have a 1986 Merceded 560 SEC that is kept in the garage and rarely driven. It keeps getting absolutely filthy from dust. Is it worth getting in cleaned and putting a cover on it? What is the general consensus on car covers?

A dust cover isn't a bad idea at all for a garaged car. I'm debating whether or not to get one for mine since its sits outside.

Outdoor covers tend to get blown around and end up scratching the paint, but a nice, soft, indoor cover is just fine. Expect to spend about $300 for a decent one though.

You should try to drive the car more often though, it's really not good for cars to just sit.

If it's rarely driven you should consider popping it on axle stands in between times, but like Zen says, you should take it around the block till it reaches full temp once in a while, just to keep things moving.

Well, it now has classic car insurance and tomorrow I renew the registration. The battery is now charging, so tomorrow, I go for a drive!

You mean the 216 miles I put on my camaro in the last 3 years are BAD miles?

I kid, I know I need to drive it more but working long days and driving 4+ hours a day makes me not want to drive any more when I get home.
