Car CD Players: Pioneer DEH-P7500MP vs. Panasonic CQ-DF903U

After a little research, I have finally almost narrowed down the choices. Help me choose! Any experience? I like the display on the Panasonic, but like the quality and features on the Pioneer. I really wish Pioneer had bigger display. Don't know what to do?

Hands down, get the Pioneer.

I bought my Pioneer DEH-P8500MP refurbished on ebay for $275 which looks and works like brand new. My pioneer deck is roughly the same as the 7500MP except it has the motorized face. The motorized face is pretty tight, I get tons of compliments on it, especially from the non-tech inclined chicks

I dunno, that is going way above what I wanted to spend, BTW, there is no single open box or used one on ebay. I guess that tells you something about the product. Nobody wants to sell theirs, LOL!

Actually, no. The 8500MP does not have the Super Tuner IIID.

I would highly suggest the Premier equivalent of the 7500MP, the 750MP. You can get it for ~$275 shipped and it has 6V outputs...

techie, i have a kenwood mp919 for sale.

4.5v pre-outs, fold out face, mp3, it hasnt skipped on me once, quality head unit, sub/front/rear pre outs.

it was top of the line about 3 years ago, has since been discontinued, no fancy graphics like the pioneer though. but excellent equalizer options, removeable face plate, and it flips over to be completely black.

210 shipped.

Not a lot. Mainly a slightly nicer face, 2 year warranty, and 6V outputs. I would get it over the 7500 for the 6V outputs alone. I just picked this unit up from OCS about 2 months ago when my Kenwood Excelon got stolen and it's AMAZING. Awesome sound, great display, and it refuses to skip... I have a Mustang with basically a road racing suspension, and every CD player I've had until this Pioneer would skip in the winter because of a combination of road quality and the suspension tightening up in the cold, and the Pioneer refuses to.

I was a Kenwood Excelon guy for many years, but there units are plagued by skipping with hard suspensions, and they offer no anti-skip mechanism...the Pioneer does.

Interesting..............I might go with that Premier unit. Can get it off ebay for around $200 shipped. Might do that. Thanks for your help.

Meh, the radio sounds fine and I use MP3 CDs anyway

BTW, search on ebay for the DEH-P840MP. It's the premiere model of the 8500MP. I actually have a DEH-P840MP, it's the exact same as the 8500MP except it was a previous year's model. Pioneer just changed the number from 8400 to 8500 for a new year I suppose. Also, the Premiere version is better than the Pioneer version because Premiere uses higher quality components (This is what the manager of the bestbuy car audio dept told me though).

Um, actually, I really doubt those Best Buy reps know anything. Once a Best Buy car audio dude told me having a dual voice coil subwoofer is like having two subs in one! LOL!

The 840 is pretty decent, but again you only get 4v outputs and the regular Super Tuner III. Personally, I would go with a current model over the discontinued one...

LOL. The 750MP has more features...and no motorized face to break and pretty soon the 840 will be a two year old model... Also, the 750 has a brighter and upgraded OEL display, and you can download new screensavers/backgrounds/level meters for it...


That being said....both are nice units and you will be happy...

Get the pioneer because it has all the buttons on the face.
That way you don't have to go through a stupid menu 80 times per car ride.
