My car's tape deck recently broke, it basically eats the tape and makes this clicking sound like it's attempting to play it but something is jammed. It also takes a lot of maneuvering to get the tape out as the regular eject button gets stuck. Anyone have a similar problem or know what the deal is? I'm just trying to avoid having to buy an overpriced radio transmitter for my ipod that sounds like crap. Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I wasn't sure where this would fit in elsewhere.

Typical unhelpful OT responses.

Is it trying to autoreverse the tape? My car did that with my adapter, because the wire got stuck. Jiggling the wire made it decide which side to be on. Not sure what you meant about eating tape, as there is no tape in one of those things.

Get a new head unit with a direct ipod connection. Better sound quality, charge while you play, control everything from head unit....much better than the tape control.

Not sure what you mean by "eats the tape" either, there is no tape to eat, it's an
adapter. Could be you need a new capstan drive belt for the deck but if your gonna
go through that much trouble to remove it and then repair the deck why not just
upgrade to a newer technology??
