aw c'mon, how hard is it to type "wax" into the search box? :)

here ya go

i would stick with zaino as reccommended from the thread. it's not that hard to keep the paint lookin' smooth and nice, it just takes _time_. use dawn dishwasher detergent first to strip the old wax if any. i would do it anyway, just don't make a habit of it or do it too often. snag a clay bar (i reccommend mother's clay bar), about half a bar will do an entire car. i would do it with a buddy to help pass the time, but if not then save the other half using a playdoh container or something. stick some zaino on it afterwards, i would use 3 or so layers since winter's approaching. you shouldn't need to wax too often, but i would use a mild car wash every week or so.

good luck

btw, pics ? :D

Zaino is some of the best stuff you can buy. :) (I use to use all Meguiars... then I converted. :D)
When you first get your Zaino you'll want to do this:
1.) Wash car down with Dawn.
2.) Claybar car using water/carwash lubricant spray if needed
3.) Wash car again with regular car wash and towel dry/california water blade dry
4.) Apply Z1 to entire car.
5.) Apply Z2, Z3, or Z5 to entire car
6.) Go inside and surf the anandtech forums for an hour or more
7.) Go back outside with some 100% Cotton White towels (bath or hand, several of em) and buff, buff, buff and then buff some more.
8.) Wait until the next day and repeat steps 3 and 5-7 for as many days as you'd like. :)

Right now I have 5 coats of Z3 on my 95 Red 3000GT, the more you put on the shinier it gets and the easier it is to keep clean. It also lasts a lot longer than regular waxes.

- When washing your car make sure you start at the top and work your way down. I recommend using a wash mitt and NOT a sponge or towel of any sort. You can buy them for a couple bucks from walmart or any auto store. And since a lot of people don't know the "proper" way to wash a car I'll tell you what I usually do here:
1.) Rinse off entire car good.
2.) Wash roof and front/rear windshields and rinse
3.) Wash hood and rinse
4.) Wash rear/trunk and rinse
5.) Wash 1 side and rinse, then wash the other side and rinse
6.) Rinse off car again, then remove the nozzle from the hose and wash off again with a stream of water from the hose, this makes more of the water sheet off the car leaving less to dry and less chance of any kind of water spots.
7.) I usually use a california water blade on the car starting from the top down (in the same order as washing) and then follow that up with a large 100% cotton white high quality bath towel that you can buy at department stores. Sal Zaino recommends Cannon or Fieldcrest towels.

Hope that helps ;)

BTW I do believe that your are suppost to wait a certain amount of time after having your car painted before waxing it.

WAAAAAYYY TO MUCH EFFORT. Dang. That is totally too time consuming. Are you guys insane?

Get a teflon coat applied to your new paint job... and then stuff will flake right off... and you can cook scrambled eggs on it too in the summer.

Or... keep your car in the garage all the time!! :D :D

It also depends on what car you have. Typically German cars have a slightly different paint process compared to Japanese Cars. for e.g. most of the German cars use high quality water based paints. Some waxes tend to give a specific paint type a good sheen, but could make the other type look a bit dull.
