what part is this physically? curious so when I get there I can look at it specifically, even though it was already re-inspected since then, I want to make sure :D

The pillar is the part of the frame that runs between the sides of the windshield and doors on either side.

I would not go for it, if it has had that type of damage it probably wobbles at highway speeds...

it was inspected and fixed though, and owned and driven for another 50k miles or so.

Doesn't mean that the owner did not have to deal with cowl shake and constantly getting the car realigned.
