Shaffers installed a new full stainless dual exhaust conversion on my 98 Ranger with the new Magnaflow Wide Open Mufflers. I have a 3.0 V6, and it sounds beauitiful. No glass pack crackle, but a really deep rumble. It sounds like a big block at idle. Full cost at Shaffers with the dual conversion, cat, muffler, polished stainless tips, etc came out to $531.16 with a lifetime warranty. Well worth it IMHO.

I wish everyone could hear it, because you would love it. People walk up to me, and ask about the truck, and when I tell them its a V6, I have to pop the hood to prove it. I've heard "I'll be damned" about four times today. I'm not trying to pimp sales out for Magnaflow, but if you ever redo a exhaust on a car and want a high quality rumble, the Magnaflow Wide Open mufflers kick ass. 100% They are a little cheaper than Flowmaster, and seem to give a little more horsepower and have a much better tone (On 6 bangers anyhow)

Here is a pic of the conversion...

I ordered a header that isn't made for my car today. $325. Am I stupid or what. Includes a down pipe that I'll run full time. I like the idea of having my own personal ozone hole behind my car, should keep tailgaters away.

Vrooooom. Vrooooom.

Nice truck you have Monel :) Is it 4WD? IMHO best sound comes from car without exhaust :)

Thanks all. I fell asleep early last night

I paid $16,200 for the truck last year with 17,000 miles on it. It is a 98 Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab 4X4. Electronic 4WD, flip up mini seats in the back cab, 3" body and 2" susp lift. Rangers are nice, because for little buckage, you can fix them up pretty nice.

Its only a 6 banger, so I don't wanna go higher or bigger tires, but I am looking to install a 4.0 in it, and maybe a paxton to help out with oomph.

It is taken care of, but not babied, like trucks should be. In fact, I'm leaving right now to go pick up a rototiller. :) I dunno if you can see it in the pic, but I screwed up my bed liner trying to fit a Polaris Explorer 4X4 quad in the bed. It has a tiny 6 foot bed, so I had to shoe horn it in.
