Car & bike threads aside! who has the best boat?

Well, we certainly seem to have our share of motorcycle and car threads, but I haven't heard anything from the boaters that I know must be on here somwhere

1991, 17' Bayliner Capri, Force 90 2 stroke Outdrive (non-honda pos) :disgust:
1981, 26' Searay Sundancer with brand new superblock 360HP V8 OWC. 1.1 Gallons to the mile BIATCH 😎

Both stored in forklift units, both on original gelcoats...

any other takers? I know someone here has to have a Hatteras "Weekender" 😀

I'd never own a Bayliner. Have not heard good things about them.
I myself want a Glastron or Regal. Dont have the money though. 🙁

1.1 Gallons to the Mile? How big is the tank? 100 gallons?

If I was to ever buy a boat it would be a bass boat. They serve a distinctive purpose.

I'm glad you enjoy your cocktail boats, but we all have our own interests. When I go out on the water I want to fish. Your boats aren't designed for fishing.

I wish you many happy hours of basking in the sun.

Basking in the sun isn't very different from sitting in the sun waiting for a fish to bite so you can throw it back.

Who the hell throws a fish back?! (Unless its too small)
I like to fish, but if I get a boat its for 1 reason.
To pull the bait across the water, at high speed. (Read: Ski boat) 🙂

Lot's o fun.

Around here it is popular for folks to bring out water cannons in no wake zones and blast other boaters, all in good fun. A buddy and I go out and if someone is going to shoot us and we don't want to be shot at (w/ water) we tell them not too. If they still do it we follow them til the no wake ends and spray them in a big way. It's big fun and they are left completely soaked.

lol, only 50 😛

Its just enough to get me from the mouth of the Susquehana River in Maryland to Anapolis on a smooth day 😎

Are you looking to get a boat? What do you want to do with it? Ski, board, go fast, etc.
What ever you choose to do, stay away from Bayliner.

Oh, please don't take anything I'm saying as an endorsement of Bayliner. That thing is a piece of junk in many respects. The two-stroke engine has seized up on a number of occasions and stalls at almost every change between idle, forward and reverse. It¡¯s an old Force, from before Honda took it all over and sprayed its logo everywhere. The ignition is all plastic¡ the gauges are all wrong¡ I think I¡¯m just gunna rebuild the entire drive/ignition/throttle system from scratch. Then we¡¯ll see if it¡¯s a descent boat. It¡¯s a shame Bayliner couldn¡¯t get it right the first time though. Cant beat 22 years for a fiberglass gel coat on a weekender though :-D

Stay away from Bayliner, amen.

Why thank you very much, except I don't ever bask in the sun. In the ideal world:

do while((marginal benefit/marginal cost)¡Ý1)

the plan would be to take the girl down in the morning, pull out, head south and light a nice cigar just as you get off plane. Most cities such as Baltimore have beautiful city docks with tourist attactions where you can relax with the A/C on... You have your own hotel... Spend the night, leave in the morning, arive at another port
}

Thats all i think of... a hotel room, except on the water and with a V8 so you can do cool stuff with it.

have any of you guys try sail? i'm on the sailing club up in the bay area...never been on a power boat. must be fun to be able to move freely in the water w/ a motor 🙂

Uhuh. Back in the day I got my Sailing Merit Badge on one of those little sunfish things... My parents had a 33 Hunter with a speed over amenities style hull. Power is less work, less monotonous, more exiting, less time consuming and more versatile. Not to say sailing doesen't have its place, it's just that I like power more. I still think however, that powerboaters have to be more mindful of their wakes around poor sailboaters 😛
