Car audio: What speakers??? And amp to power them?

So this is what I have decided on so far. Either go the alpine route of two type r 12's and two alpine m-300 300 watt mono amp's. Ported mdf box I will make, and eventually if it's not enough, then ill add one more 15' type-r with appropriate mono amp.


OR

Find some (3) diamond audio mac daddy 12's (not in production anymore) and use those.

My question is, what speakers do I use. I have some holes ( albiet very sh!tty cutting job by PO) for 6x9's behind the rear seat, I think I'd rather cut nice perfect holes in the door bottoms. or, I can run all four. There all 6x9's. What speakers? Infinity kappa's? Anything better but in the same price range? And what amp to power the 2 or four speakers?

JL, MB Quart, Boston, Alpine
I have the JL's.

For amplifiers:
The most inexpensive amplifier that has enough channels.
I have no idea what brand of amplifier I have, or its power output.
I think it is 25 x 4.
I never have to turn my system all the way up.

type r comps are not the best ever. imaging is fully dependent upon install and not the components themselves. RE has a great warranty, they just know if a sub has been abused or not, yet they will help you out 99% of the time.

mixing subs is not the best, but you can overcome cancelation, and 12's and 15's wont cancel, i dont get where you get that. and what filter? there are tons of filters.

any sub can take 2000watts, just not for long. if your not talkin pyramid what are you talking? sony? rockford sans power line?

if you run 250 watts to each side i would love to know what you use to power them and how many watts your running to your sub? also, where are they located because imaging is very difficult. are you running an eq? if so ,pro audio, or car audio?

If I read correctly, you want to get 2 12"s and power each with its own M300. Why not get one JBL 1200.1 or similarly powerful amp and run the subs with that? Also, 2 12"s sounds like a lot of pressure but might get sloppy. However you may have more experience on the subject. I have a entry-level Infinity Reference 12" (#1230W) and a JBL 600.1. For aesthetics I'd choose an amp from the Alpine v12 line to match your sub amp(s). Plus they have a lot of options.

i had 2 12" type r's last year ni a ported box, with a sony class D amp, hit good and most importantly(to me) it hit just about every note very smoothly.

but the best speakers ive ever had were 2x mtx 15" 6000s with 250 watts going to each, ported box, OMFG it was loud...knocked my rearview mirror off and what not. cheap too.

alpines are quality sounding subs.

If I were you, just get a pair of the Type-R and hook them both up together to 1 amp. You can get a decent amp for the same price of the two you want to get.

Edit: It's kind of hard to give you a ballpark without you saying how much you want to spend. Maybe if you tell us your max on everything we could help you better......
