Well, my truck is toast. Lost a fight w/ a suburban about a month ago. Fortunately, it wasn't my fault, and nobody was seriously hurt. But my truck, as you can see, isn't exactly drivable. As a replacement, (temporarily, anyway) it looks like I'm going to get my grandpa's '89 Bonneville. Not a bad car, aside from the fact that it's somewhat of a boat, but it needs a new stereo something desperate. The existing one randomly fades in and out, and sounds pretty bad when it does work. So I need some help picking out a new reciever and speakers. I don't want to do anything terribly elaborate or expensive here, especially since it's likely to be temporary; just replace the factory reciever & four speakers: 2 4x6s up front and 2 6x9s in the rear (according to Crutchfield's website). I do want it to sound good though - I never go anywhere without having the stereo on. The only other real requirement that I have is either a tape deck or auxiliary 1/8" jack input so that I can use my Rio Volt MP3 player. Any suggestions?
Nate
PS: I am a complete n00b when it comes to car audio; I'll admit that in a heartbeat. I have some ideas of what to look for, but the choices seem overwhelming, which is why I'm asking for some help here.
