Ok, my current system includes a Clarion 5675 Pro Audio head unit, two MTX 6x9's in the back, and two eclipse speakers on the front stage. I have recently purchased a Kicker IX404 amp (4 channels), and a Kicker Comp 12". I want to put two of the channels on the sub obviously, but I am torn on where to put the other two. I was thinking to get more volume, I should put the other two channels on the 6x9's, but people I have talked to said that it would sound better if I put them on the front stage eclipse's... What are your thoughts on this?

Front. Your clarions will respond better to the extra juice as treble is always the hardest sounds to keep clear due to their directivity. The bass/mid from the 6x9" will fill the car without extra power.

need more info---is there an external amp? or are you powering them from the deck?

Did you get the harness hooked up correctly?

crzyc - did you do it yourself? If so (or if not), check your wiring harness - you might have gotten some of the wires wrong. (Just a remote possibility) Or the deck itself might be defective.

i don't "think" there is an external amp, i mean i looked all around but they might have stuck a factory one somewhere. the harness was wired right, i did it my self and double and triple checked.

You're gonna put each sub on it's own channel???

use the kicker amp for the normal speakers, and get another bridgeable two-way amp for the 12's and bridge that down mono at 2ohm for maximum boom.

if it had the Bose system in it, the new deck is most likely overpowering the amp---there is a special adapter that you need to get an aftermarket radio to work properly w/ the Bose systems

That's what I would do.
Otherwise, fronts.

For now, wire your amp to the fronts.

The optimal set up would be a 4 channel amp for your speakers, and a mono block amp for your 12" sub. I personally have a pair of 5 1/4 component MB Quart fronts (seperate tweets), component 6x9 MB Quart rears (the same model, to match the fronts), and one 10" Rockford Fosgate HX2 sub. Add to that a 4 channel Alpine amp for the speakers, and a mono block for the sub.

Great sounding system.
