ok ive recently been slowly installing a system in my new car and had some fuse/circuit breaker questions. the shady car place i went to (which i found out didnt know jack about installation) put in a 180A circuit breaker from the battery leading into a distribution block with 70A fuses into each amp (amps are 500W and 460WRMS). all power cable is 4ga.
i want to install a cap and know that you shouldnt have fuses between the cap and the amps... which means i have to take out the 70A fuses and distribution block. is the 180A breaker alone good enough?
i was also thinking, is a 180A breaker even doing anything, i mean isnt it meant for really really high loads? im really new to this stuff and cant find a solid answer anywhere. i was thinking that maybe just an inline 100A fuse might be a better solution.
if someone could help me with this... and maybe some other questions it would realy really help. thanks.
