Car Audio question

I just installed a stereo but no sound comes out. I removed the older stereo and replaced it with a new one. The only wires I had to change were the power, ground, and accessory (red, black, yellow) and rca plugs. I spliced them all together like the old radio was and no sound is coming out. There was a little spark when I spliced the ground wires however. Also, the radio powers up okay, it's just the sound issue.

Thanks for your help.

What adapters are you speaking of? There was a wiring harness attached to the factory plug. I used that one.
