Car audio question - Broken head unit?

Hey guys. I have a DEH-p8400mp which was slowly cutting in and out more and more often. later on I noticed when it shut off, if I moved the face plate a little, it came back on. eventually moving it even didn't help anymore and it completely shut off. I checked the contacts on the back of the face plate and on the brain. cleaned them and what not but with no luck.

Any idea if its worth trying to get it fixed at a local shop? do they usually? Can they try another face plate on it? or try the face plate on another brain? anyone here ever try it?

Thank you for your time and advice in advanced.

what is the make of the stereo? check their website and see if there is any authorized dealers in your area. I know a guy not to far from me that will fix stereos and amps for cheap, but thats only good if you live in western washington, specifically the tacoma area
