Alpine CDA-9847, but if you can live without sub preouts, changer controls, and the optional remote, the CDE-9845.

I can live without the changer controls and remote, but I dunno if I need sub preouts or not. I plan on hooking up 2 10" subs and an amp, so is that something that I need?

Having sub preouts is nice, as long as the HU in question has a sub level control. Sometimes you want to change the bass level, and it's nice to do that from the front seat.

Is there any difference between it and the 4700MP other than the display?

Not sure. The 6700 does have EQ-EX though. That does make a difference. It is always turned on on my 750MP. Also the OEL menus are very easy to navigate and use. I dunno how they are with the 4700.

If you're going to get a sub then get a HU with sub outs. Makes life much easier. With my 750MP I can adjust the sub level very easily as well as the low pass filter. I adjust my low pass filter every now and then depending on the song, so that's nice to have too.

edit: wow, didn't realise Pioneer got rid of their sub outputs. If I were you I'd get last year's model off ebay.

Ok, I think I am also getting 2 10" Alpine Type R's (or if you have any other recommendations), and what amp should I get to power them (that is not too expensive).

I have a pioneer and I love it (with 2 factory 3.5" speakers and 2 cheapo pioneers). Just wish my car was working so I can listen 🙂
