Car Audio People: Stock CD / Tape Decks

my friend has a 1998 mitsubishi diamante that he wants to get the stock cd/tape deck for. the only one we could find on ebay was a 1999 model that looks like it wont fit in there. i've googled it and come up with nothing. the dealer sells them, but its $350. are there any other places online that one can find this?

Why does he want to put the stock radio back in? Get an aftermarket, it'll do you a world of good. They come in double-din and 1.5-din sizes if you need something that's not standard size.

already told him that, he's being stubborn. told him its gonna cost him a buttload of money. he has the stock tape player in right now, but they did make stock cd / tape players too.

Search junkyards for one but it won't be easy. Installing an aftermarket one would be much better and there are plenty of people on this forum who are more than willing to share their advice on audio equipment with you
