This is what i want to do, i want to get rid of my deck completely and just have an In dash monitor that folds out of a single din slot, i then want it to be hooked up to a ipod video, or something similar. all my speakers are ran off of amps, so i want the audio to go from the "ipod video" to the amps. its pretty simple i know. i just dont know where to find a decent in dash monitor that retracts

any suggestions on a video mp3 device as well?

thanks

I'm confused, you want the deck to output to your ipod? Why don't you just hook up the ipod to the deck and then to the speakers?

You're going to be hard pressed to find a retractable dvd face deck that fits in a single din.

or you mean you just completely want to get rid of a deck...?

I suppose it's possible, but you'll have to split up the signal into RCA's, and most likely the RCA"s won't have nearly as much voltage as a deck outputs through preouts, not to mention they would technically be high level.

Start here. I know there are a few stand-alone video screens.

Your second question doesn't make any sense. You already stated that you'll be using an iPod video. What do you mean? An additional device?

Price range?

I have this one, which does everything you're looking for and then some (although you need an ipod adapter for direct ipod hookup) - but it's on the pricey side if you don't want nav.
