Car Audio Help...

Cuda1447

Awhile back I bought a system for my gf. I don't know much about Car Audio, and had it installed at Circuit City (where I used to work).

She came over today and told me that she was driving and all of a sudden the audio cut out and wouldn't come back on. Even after turning car off and back on, no audio. The deck gets power and all the controls function, you just don't hear anything.

Its a pioneer deck with an infinity 6 channel amp and sub. I believe the speakers at pioneer as well.

Any idea how I can go about trouble shooting these parts/possibly fixing it? I don't really know much about this stuff, so it'd have to be fairly basic troubleshooting.

*edit* speakers are kickers

I got it installed at employee price, so not sure I get a warranty on that - especially since I don't work there anymore.

Since you said it has an external amplifier I'm thinking the problem lies somewhere there. Start the car and turn on stereo. Go check to see if the amp is turning on. Most amps have a green LED to signal that its on and a red when there's a problem. If the amp isn't turning on then check to see if the power cables are secure and that no fuses are blown.
