I bought a '91 dodge colt about 3 months ago for 400 dollars. it has been a great car except for one thing. the previous owner told me that sometimes when you start the car, the battery cable disconnects from the post and you have to pop the hood and wiggle around the connection(it is as tight as it can get). well today, it happened and i wiggled it but my radio never came on. i called the previous car owner and he said that happened to him once but it just came back on a few weeks later. i'm driving to tampa sat. and i'm not interested in making the drive without a cdplayer.... any thoughts??

thanks.

Buy new battery terminal connectors.

/thread

Edit: if you don't want to go that route you can also get shims for the battery terminals (assuming top post)

already have them... about to install them, but i don't think that's going to help the cdplayer... right now the car runs fine except the cd player.

If the cd player starts working again in the future it will stop the problem from happening again.

If the other dude says the cd player will come back on by itself, try disconnecting the battery and connecting it again.

If that doesn't help, assume 1 of 3 things:
a.) Sh!tty radio
b.) Dead radio
c.) Loose connection to radio

I suppose it could be a fuse (also assumed you already checked the fuse box... If you havn't done that yet, do it..). There may be a fuse directly on the back of the radio as well.
