The stock speakers in my Acura are giving up the ghost and i'm looking to replace them. Need recommendations for a reasonably priced set of four 6x9 speakers. Needs to be something which i can get at a Circuit City, Best Buy, or similar, no exotic stuff please. My musical tastes run from Mozart to Metallica, and sound quality is more important to me than sound quantity. Basically, i'm looking for the recommendation you'd give your father if he was asking.... for many here, i'm probably close to his age anyway so our requirements in sound systems are probably about the same :)

I'm using an Alpine cd receiver, 45w 4 channel if that makes a difference...

the CDT audio CL61a (the batch with the darker color, normally they are like $300) at thezeb.com for $149 shipped. you have to use an adapter plate thou.

Those speakers are INCREDIBLE. I am about to order some on Monday :)

but if you are powering with just a headunit.... buy a nice set of components up front and buy an amp to power them instead of buying 4 6x9" speakers. A very nice front soundstage will sound a lot better than mediocre speakers all the way around with not enough power.

Your HU is MAX power output is 45x4... I am not sure on the exact Aiwa, but it is most likely 15-20watts x 4.

I got some 6 1/2 inche infinites up front and they sound great. A friend has some infinities 6x9's and he likes then a lot.
