It depends on what they want. If you want to boom in the parking lot, definetely get the amp + sub.
If you want SQ, upgrade the fronts + deck first.

Techie333,

I have the same car('96 camry) ....and let me tell you that although replacing the headunit makes a HUGE difference, you'd definitely want to get new speakers. I replaced my fronts with pioneer TS-A1655(cheap...$79 at BB) and the back with JBL GTO series(forgot the number....2-way...its a '97 model). I have a cheap pioneer(DEH-2100) for the CD-player and its pretty damn good considering how little I paid for these. I also have two 10" subs in the trunk in a box. If you get quality 6x9s in the back you'll get pretty good bass cuz the back of the speakers are exposed in the trunk and it acts like a box.......not too sure if thats true but it seems like it to me.

lol yea, if all you want are farting sounds you can share with other ppl with your windows down sound quality is the least of your concerns:)

as for upgrading bit by bit, i suggest you get speakers + amp + headunit together or else be dissapointed:p
