Hi all. I'm looking to pick up an in-dash DVD player for my 1998 Acura TL 2.5. What does everyone suggest that I use? I'm looking to spend $650 or less. I don't really want to go all out, but I want it to be a nice unit. I've been eyeing this unit from Crutchfield:

that's about the max I want to spend on something like this, as I want to put money towards other aspects of the car. Can anyone recommend a unit that's better than that one for the same price? I'd like it to be a touchscreen, if possible.

Also, I hear that you can only play movies while the car is parked. Is that true? I'd like for my front seat passenger to be able to watch movies while I drive.

Thanks
Adam

I won't be going that far out! :D Perhaps I'd get around to adding another one in the backseat, but that's about it.

And thanks TheGoodGuy, that's a piece of information I definitely needed.

Ironically enough, I've gotten more help here than I have from people at an Acura-specific forum.

Bump for the afternoon crowd.

make sure you check on the local legality of watching movies while driving. There is a reason that the video defaults to only playing while in parked. It is illegal in some cities.

I'll make sure to check that. I know that it's okay for my passenger to watch movies as long as the screen isn't viewable to the driver (but just about all of them tilt/change angles).

I've been looking on eBay and the ones there are much cheaper, but they look really cheesy and ship from Hong Kong.

It definitely is illegal to have those up front(at least it is here)...I would tread carefully. A cop pulls you over and sees one of those he's not gonna cut you any slack. Plus lets face it, you're going to watch it sometime while driving...and that's just stupid

Alright, point noted. Can someone actually recommend a good unit for me then?

Alright, I'll just have to make a semi-educated decision myself. Thanks to those who helped :D
