I have a 95 grand am with just the usual 2 4x6's and 2 6x9's. They are not the original speakers but they do the job

All I want is to get more more bass from my 6x9's without getting subs

What's the easiest way to do this?

This one?

You want more bass from your existing speakers? Well, drop the 6x9's in a box maybe might help. Also, find an amp and use the bass boost or use the bass boost on the HU. 6x9's really wont get that down low you'd get from subs. If your really on a budget, check into some JL 6W0's. Or even the JL 8IB4. There fairly cheap. The 8IB4 can be used free air as well i beleive.

That's a big negative, Space Ranger.

You say "I want more bass!"
I say "Got money?"

You make bass with two things and two things only:
1. Cone area
2. Raw wattage

You get #'s 1 & 2, above with MONEY.

No money = no bass = people laughing at you as you roll down your windows and cruise the strip, pumpin' the techno thru your 6x9 speakers. *fart-fart-fart-fart*

Bahahahahah! Can't be done.

you cant. if you want a quick, simple solution, get a self powered unit like infiniti basslink. a new deck might make the weak boom sound a little better...but youre asking for a brick house from a pile of straws

Money? No.
Room? Yes.

If you want bass from those 6x9's, you better break out the math books and Skil saw. We're goin to the land of Transmission Line and Horn Loaded boxes baby.... :)

Oh, sure, go and get all technical on me... ;)

However, 6x9's were not designed to be put into boxes; they were designed to be used in an infinite-baffle configuration. I.E. mounted on a rear deck with the trunk as the "box." You COULD put them into a box...would sound like crap though.

:D

Yeah, I agree. You just really cant do much with 6x9's without destroying the SQ. I just thought it would be funny as all hell to see him try n fit a TL box in a Grand Am. :D
