[Car Audio] Can I hook a Sony CD changer up to an Alpine head unit?

Well, my second Sony head unit (2001 Xplod CDX-CA650X) is about to die, and I'm looking for a new CD deck. This one was worth $199, but I got it for $134 with my Best Buy employee discount with a 4-year Performance Service Plan. They better give me $199 worth of store credit, because I'm not taking this back to get an Aiwa cassette deck or some crap. But that's another issue I'll have to tackle (if you could help on that though, please chime in!).

In the latest Crutchfield catalog, Alpine has some impressive CD decks for $199 and under. The one I have my eye on is the CDM-7874 with CD changer controls. Is this for an Alpine-only CD changer, or will I be able to hook my Sony CD changer up to it? It's not one of those FM things- it's a straight-input, no frills 10-disc unit. And frankly, it's the only reason I've been buying Sony head units, because I didn't think it would work with others. The Sony changer works, and I'd really love to hang onto it. But anyway, will it work with this Alpine head unit, or maybe even a Blaupunkt? I'm very curious and will likely be purchasing a new head unit today. Help me out, and TIA!!!

I looked for an auxillary input adapter for an alpine head which is what you need, and didn't have any luck @ crutchfield.com

D'oh, just called Crutchfield (friendly and helpful as always) and found out that with one of those adaptors, that I'd be able to get the audio out, but no way of controlling it. Bah! My changer is holding me back! It's only worth about 60 bucks on eBay. :|
