Car Audio Advice Needed (subs)

Well my Pioneer IMPP 500W 10" is dead. Now I need a replacement. I have decided that I want to add an additional sub also. What I need is two 10" subs that will sound good with my RF 250a2 amp. Please make suggestions (I am thinking JL) and post links to where I can get them fairly inexpensive online. I also need a box either for a single ten or dual tens (already have a single wedge box) that is not taller than 8 inches. The box must fit in the trunk of my Stealth.

If I were to get two DVC subs, do I need a four channel amp to power them? Each sub has two pairs of inputs.😕

If you want tight, accurate, skull crushing, crystal clear bass, get JL subs. (10's, the 12's are a little more boomy)

If you want more sound pressure than quality, go Cerwin Vega or Fosgate.

If you want tasty bass, get a largemouth or rock.

I love the Image Dynamics IDQ. They require little space to sound amazing, they can be found for ~$110 for each 10". They pack awesome sound quality and hit hard for its size and enclosure.

I highly recommend the IDQ also. One of the best SQ 10's for the money i've heard in a lonngg while. I own one and couldn't be happier.

I believe these are what I will get. I'm trying to get into touch with my Ovation (sells JL subs) contact to see how much he can get them for.

I just sold mine for 125 apiece.

Just remember mimendo - the enclosue is just as important as the driver. Sometimes even more so.

So do your home work and build the right sized box. Its very easy to put a 500 dollar woofer in an enclosure and have it sound like poo.

-edit- worked at ovation's for three years during college as an installer/speaker builder.

Very true. People never realize this and never get all the SQ/SPL out of the driver as they could have.

Lambda Acoustics subs are quite smooth. Get them if you want clarity from your bass frequencies.

That said, perhaps you should spring for Dayton 12" DVCs or the like and build a custom enclosure.

BUmp for new question.
