I've got a mono mtx amp hooked up to two 10's. Sounds pretty good without getting into too much money. A lot of people swear by JL, but I've never personally used it. I did hear an audiobahn amp though, and it kinda sucked.

w00t, another SC owner (my system so far)

what are you looking for? sound quality, sound pressure, a mix of both? How much power do you want to run? If you click on my link above, i will be running a single 12" with 600 watts. I'll let you know how it sounds if i can get it finished this week.

Now remember, most 12" subs will require .75-1.2 cubic feeet. with the setup above, i'm at around 1 cubic foot. 2, 12" subs will require a lot of our tiny trunk space... and then there is the issue of amp placement. it's doable... i can try and find the link where a guy installed 2 -12" woofers on each side of the trunk. but he did some custom work.

oh boy. here we go.

if you want a true 1000 watt setup, you prolly will need a new alternator, or a cap so you dont get dimming, caps are cheaper, but are only bandages.

good brands:
http://www.respl.com
http://www.edesignaudio.com
http://www.adireaudio.com

adire has more of an H/T type sound, they take a larger enclosure, but they are nice.
RE has a nice amount of woofers, XXX is their best line, but will cost, SEXXX is a nice line.
ED i havent seen their new subs yet, but everything i had of theirs has been decent.

amps.
JBL 1200.1 will push 1200 watts into 1 and 2 ohms. very nice amp. (check sounddomain.com)

for wiring,
http://www.knukonceptz.com
very good stuff.

let me just tell you that 1000 + watts will be WAY more than you think if you buy an amp that is rated 1K watts RMS <--- key. make sure your 1000 watt amp isnt rated 1Kw @ max. and it makes sense that it can put out 1000 watts (multiply the fuse rating by 14.4 and then figure that there is a decent amount of inefficiency, meaning you only get about 80% of the actual power it could possibly make)

sorry for the late response.... i'll post some pics later of the setup (everything is done except the carpet) and of the link with the guy who has 2-12" subs.

600 Watts RMS is loud. VERY loud. I wasn't able to turn it up to test it out fully because i'm having voltage issues (alternator, previous problem). I can't imagine doubling the speakers and wattage.

I'm running a PPI 600.2 art series amp with a 12" Stryke Audio AV12 MKII (comarable to an Eclipse aluminum). If I was to go with another amp, I would either do a PPI (PC or PCX), JL, Diamond, Phoenix Gold, or Eclipse.... basically lots. I would stay away from any Sony, Jensen, etc low - end amps.

just to name a few subs, I would go with a JL W6, Eclipse Aluminum, Diamond Audio M6, IDMAX, and the XXX.

as for dimming issues. the SC came with 3 different alternators. 60, 100 and 120. As long as you don't have the 60 amp alternator and no previous alternator issues, you *should* be fine running that many watts.
