Car Amp Suggestions?

I need a pretty cheap 4 channel amp but don't really have a good knowledge of the market.. I'd like something that's warm and "jazzy" and not the punchy, rockford fosgate type of amp ( though I may be wrong and they may be pretty warm).. I also want something pretty small and easy to "stash" under a seat/etc..Here's what I've been looking at:

Alpine MRPF240
Kenwood KAC8401

Those amp sounds you describe are much more a function of processing and speaker type and not so much the amp type so I wouldnt worry about that too much.
First off, whats your budget?

I'm looking to spend less than $200 with installation (max $300).. To be totally honest, I don't honestly know what benefit the amp will bring.. I was installing speakers (infinity ref 6000s) and the installer told me that I really should get an amp to push them... Would the amp just make everything "louder"? I mean, the radio is on the underpowered side but pushing it to say 20 (out of a 30 max) on the volume dial is ear drum damaging material. Would an amp really be necessary? As far as my speakers - I have infinity comps up front, rockford fosgate ($90 pair - NOT high end) 6x9s at back and cheap-O mtx 10" subs in the trunk (with MTX amp).. I like the sound stage that I'm getting (not overly thumpy bass, clear highs) but wonder how/if an amp would just kick SQ to the "next level"..

the amp can make them louder, but the big thing is it will make them cleaner and clearer. A good amp will run at <.08%THD which is less distortion than the human ear can pick up.

In short, by an amp, and with a 4 channel the big thing is <.08%THD and at least 45 watts RMS per channel @ 4 ohms to push those speakers
