Car: 91 CRX without powered door/windows
Want: remote start, powered door/windows (if possible), self-powered siren, hood/trunk lock

Most of the important goods would be in the trunk of the car, so that would have to be protected.

Is that too much to ask for a sub 500-600 dollar car security system? Which system would you choose that has some of those features?

That CRX is a stick, so toss out remote start from your wishlist. Does it already have power windows and door locks? If not the power locks and a basic alarm will cost $600+ from a good shop. I can recommend a good shop in Alhambra so they can blow you away with cost.

Nooonoo, my friend has a remote start with his manual Accord--SCHWEET huh? He said it disables the clutch. Hey, if it works

I need power doorlocks, and if they can add power windows, that would be awesome!

May i have the number please?

Okay, my friend is friends with some people that steal car audio systems. He told me about their procedure, and it goes something like this:

1) break window/jimmy
2) pop the hood
3) disconnect the battery
4) pop the trunk
5) steal goods

So i guess i also need a hood lock! And, are there any such things as a trunk lock as well?

That's why they pop open the hood, so that they can disconnect the battery. If the siren isn't self-powered, then they're good to go :|

WTF? He must mean it bypasses the safety switch, which is there for a reason. Basically you'll always have to leave you car in neutral when you park, something I hardly ever do. And power windows will not be cheap to add. Figure my basic alarm cost me ~$600 for the lock motors/install, dome light surveillance, starter disable and to have the factory lock switches put it. At some point, its just not worth it. Like you'll prolly need new door panels if you want power windows plus the wiring, which I guarantee isn't there and the control modules, etc.

dome light surveillance

What's that?

Disarm the alarm the dome light comes on and stay on for like 30 seconds. Hit disarm again it turns on again for another 30 seconds. So you disarm, get in the car, close the door, light still stays on. Stays on until either the timer runs out or you go to start the car.

Oh, cool. So basically if i'm looking to get:

1) powered door locks
2) self-powered siren
3) hood/trunk lock
4) dome light
5) starter disable

How much do you think it'll cost at your place? If you have the #, i'll give em a ring.
