That's a good consideration. To counter you, though, I got mine as a certified used car from a BMW dealer so it has warranty good through April of next year, I believe. That's over a year after I bought the car so that's not too shabby, I don't think. Plus, you can always get an extended warranty from an outside company for fairly cheap. Places like Warranty Gold have been doing that for a long time. I don't want to pointlessly argue about this if they're set on a new car but, as I said, the used market can offer a really good deal on a really good car.
Subaru makes good cars under $25 grand, too. You could look at them.
