Check out the iGo system at RadioShack. They push them hard, but they're actually a great product. They're car adapters with interchangable tips for different laptops, phones and pdas. I'm positive they have tips for all recent IBM Thinkpads.
Or you could get a regular old power inverter. Just make sure its rated to support how many watts your system is supposed to draw. Compare the rating on your AC adapter to the rating of the power inverter. The disadvantage is that you have to bring your regular AC adapter along, as you plug that into the power inverter. The advantage is that it is universal (as you plug your original device's power cord into it) and you can easily find models that also plug into an airplane's port.
I keep a power inverter in my car. It's great for running the laptop or charging the cell phone. I don't need a separate power cord for every device I want to use in the car. The inverter is also small enough to carry on a plane. I have a 150 Watt version that does pretty good, but I have had some small issues watching DVDs on a couple of airplanes. The inverter is also MUCH cheaper. I decent inverter can cost as little as $15 on sale. Those laptop adapters are usually $75 and up.
