I was traveling down a road Saturday night and a man pulled out in front of me. It really isn't as bad as it could have been. I tried my best to avoid him. The car is a '94 Toyota Tercel. How much do you think this will cost. Cosmetic and electrical (as you'll see in the 3rd picture, the wires were pinched and the flasher no longer works and it flashes really fast.

the flasher is flashing fast because that bulb is out/broken.

If this was the other guys fault, who cares? they will fix it.

OK. Never knew that. I know, I am going to have him pay for it, but I thought I would get some ideas. I am going to bring it to an autobody shop later in the day.

Did your hood make it out okay? It looks like it could be slightly bent. The bumper looks like it is just cosmetically hurt... the fender might been replacing. i am unsure if you will be able to bend it back... but some people can work miracles. They will most likely just have to replace the flasher... and the wiring would probably be cheap to fix.

At least it wasn't worse! You and the other driver came out okay.

Maybe a grand? But, as said before, WHO CARES!!! if the other driver is at fault they will end up paying for it (as long as you got the particulars and witnesses, and if you didnt you deserve a smack on your head and should pay for it yourself!)

Yeah, the hood is fine. It's really just that side panel that is dented it, so maybe they would have to replace that. Also, the front bumper is about an 1" lower. We were both ok. That was the best part. He seemed like a real nice guy.

I had a similar thing happen to me. My girlfriend hit another car (luckily it was a huge suv and only the traillight red cover was cracked... easy 35$ fix. My 99 sentra gxe cost about 700$ to replace the whole side panel and my mirror which was cracked and a little loose. The parts only cost me about $200 it's painting and labor that kills you.

That's probably real close. Might depend on how much damage is done to the bumper and if they replace that too.

That Tercel is only worth 1-2 grand in un-scathed condition anyway. The other guy's insurance company may declare it totaled. If so, they will give you ACV (actual cash value) for the Tercel. You will then have the option to "purchase" the vehicle back from the insurance company for salvage value. If you do that, the check they cut for the Tercel will be for ACV minus Salvage value.

Did you try replacing that bulb? That will probably fix the flasher. If not, then a wire has been cut by the accident, and will need to be repaired.

Next time, get a police report and his insurance company name and policy number.

dude I would do this myself if i were you. The quarter panel and light are the only thing you would have to replace, cause the bumper looks untouched. You might have to go in for electrical work and a paint job (if you chose to do this), but when i was in my accident i tried to do as much as i could myself.
