Man....all kinds of weird crap in the paper today. 😕

Avondale Estates Police Cpl. Tim Jordan has a message for whoever thought he ran over an alligator in the drive-through of the Eckerd's on Memorial Drive: You did.

Jordan, a traffic officer, said he was driving by the store on July 30 when he saw someone frantically waving him down and pointing toward the drive-through, yelling something about an alligator.

"It was a real one. It caught me aghast," Jordan said. The alligator, about 5 feet long, was dead, with tire marks down its back and tail.

Since when are there gators in freaking north GA?

There was a gator here in Birmingham a year or so ago that kept eating people's dogs in this one neighborhood only a couple miles from my house. For the longest time people didn't know what it was and assumed it might be something like a big bobcat, but they eventually discovered it was an alligator living in some drainage ditch/ravine near the neighborhood. I didn't think they would be QUITE this far north either. Kind of like those sharks that have been found as far north as Illinois on the Mississippi river. :Q
