Capturing TV question

I have an ATI TV Wonder. What format of video should I use to record (say to send to a friend who missed a TV show). The first time I tried this I just clicked "best" and the file was 2 GB. That's a bit big...

You need to reencode the raw file in something like Divx or Xvid. Check out www.vcdhelp.com. Or doom9.org.
