Capturing DV with Vegas.. I couldnt! :(

Sorry for bothering you, here I have two questions.

1)I have a JVC GR-DVL 505, and a Firewire card in my PC. I wanna capture the video to edit it in my PC.
i Have Vegas 4, and in File-> CaPture Video , a new window opens. When I click on "capture video", i make the Camcorder rewind to the beginning of the tape in order to start capturing. It previews all my video (my camcorder is set in PLAY mode), but when it finishes, I dont know how to save that AVI, or whatever file (i set it to NTSC DV). So.. I think its only previewing it, not capturing to the disk. I cant find the way to save it.
How can I capture it to the disk?

2)Is there any digital way of extracting the video? It sounds me a bit "analog" to wait until the tape finishes to finish my capturing. So If I have an hour of video in the tape, I have to wait 1 hour to capture it all.

Thanks.
