Capturing Audio as well as Video

I have a Gainward Geforce4 Ti4200 VIVO and onboard sound.

I want to capture both audio and video VHS. Video capture works fine.

Will I need to purchase a PCI sound card to capture the sound?

Thanks.

If your onboard sound has a line in. Use that to capture the sound separate from the video. Then use virtual dub or similar to combine them.

no, you could use the line-in port on the onboard sound...
so there's no need to buy a PCI sound card... except to get a better quality sound...

Thanks guys!

I ended up just buying a Y-adaptor to plug my Red-White into my onboard sound input. 🙂
