Capture to VCD

I've just completed building a low-end video capture rig. I have an Avermedia TV tuner and I'm using virtualdub to cap and tmpeg to convert. I capture to avi and convert to mpeg then use easyCD creator to burn a VCD. The problem is that I cannot seem to make a CDR that any standalone DVD player will recognize. I've burnt to CDR and CDRW and none of the DVD players at the local BB will read them. If I can burn a CDR and find a DVD player that will recognize, I will buy it and be all set. What would really be nice is if I had an mpeg that I know will work and I can burn it and see if it's my capture/encoding or my burning that's causing me problems. If anyone has a link to a file or a proven mpeg they can put up for ftp or whatever...or any other advice, it would be greatly appreciated 🙂

try vcdhelp.com for a possible test file.

also, try burning your mpg with nero. That is what i always use and works perfectly.

I was going to try Nero next. It came with a burner I just bought but I put the burner in a different rig and I will have to switch it to install Nero 🙁
