Captain America dead

I dunno. I always thought Captain America was the first steroid abuser so I am of two minds on his death.

Topic Summary: are comic book heros relevant?

Were they ever? I mean, yeah, to children or those reliving childhood, I guess. I'm not putting down all comics/graphic novels, just the stock superhero ones. I don't think such stock stories have ever had more to say than a harlequin romance.

Well for all intents and purposes America is dead so appropriate Captain America is dead.

he's dead because he doesn't youtube or myspace. get it right.

comics have come along way from when i read them as a kid. back then it was stupid little stories that had absolutely no real point other than to entertain. now, they have more detailed and deeper stories to them. some politcal. some just to teach simple things like doing the right thing or stand up for what you believe. they kinda grew up with the readers. dont get me wrong some of the stories and one liners are still pretty cheesy..but, they have come along way. to me they only are their to entertain kids today and the kids that we were.

Is losing part of your child hood dreams important in this day and age? I know many adults still read comic books and some are fans of Captain America. Can these icons from our past truly be retired? Do they become irrelevant ? Captain America was created as an opponent for Hitler.

I always thought he was lame; but it looks like the way they killed him was even lamer. (going back to my days reading those things)...so, he can get transproted to space and fight Thanos, who had all of the powers of the universe at his disposal, yet some sniper offs him while Cap'n A is leaving a courthouse. Lame...
