Capping off supply line at water shutoff valve

Got the dishwasher removed and won't be replacing it for awhile. What can I use to cap off the hot water supply line at the shutoff valve? Is 3/8" pretty much the standard. And would something like these work?

No, the supply line splits right at the shutoff valve. With no dishwasher attached the water will continue to flow out the supply line if the water is on and not capped. If the water is turned off then we get no hot water to the faucet.

You need a cap for a compression fitting. I think it's 3/8" on a dishwasher, might be 1/4".

Depot has caps by the brass fittings.
