I am still "coming up to speed" as it pertains to HDTV, "digital" SD and/or HD, cableCARD, and even --- HTPC configuration. I have successfully configured a SiliconDust HD HomerRun PRIME to my LAN, computer and HDTV.
Up to this time, all my monitor-connection options dealt with SD coax input to the computer, so they didn't need to use more than a VGA D-sub-15 cable. Even so, my only 16:9 HD-Ready computer monitor had an HDMI port, and came with a DVI-D-to-HDMI cable -- which I used.
Should I be able to use an HD-Ready monitor with a VGA/analog connection to the computer and still be able to display HD broadcast content?
