Can't watch videos with WoW alt tabbed...

Just can't figure out what setting I'm not enabling/disabling... If I alt tab from World of Warcraft and play a video I only get the audio. Having another game like warcraft 3 alt tabbed works fine with video/audio. So far I've tried dropping all the settings to low but that hasn't worked. Running the official 81.98 nvidia drivers and running the game at the same resolution and refresh rate as my desktop. For my videos I use cccp codec pack which uses ffdshow and media player classic

Not sure what's going on there but I can suggest some settings in MPC that you may want to try playing with for troubleshooting. Go into Options and in Playback > Output, try some of the dirrent settings under Directshow Video, like VRM9. You'll need to close MPC and reopen it after changing that setting.

The issue might be that in XP, "first in, wins" for video memory. WoW might be using all of the video cards memory and therefore it won't play. I could be wrong.

Yeah I Dont know if you are using hardware acceleration (ur 6800gt) for decoding but its possible that disabling that could fix it.

yea i've tried that but nothing, I posted in the wow tech support forum and they told me it's a known issue on nvidia cards

I am currently using the 6800GT also, and I watch movie and play WoW at the same time without much trouble. Did you try playing WoW in Window Mode? Maybe that will help.

HOLY crap I just found out the solution by accident, i accidently clicked on defaults in the video settings and it "enabled use desktop gamma" and it works, that was the one setting holding it back... video even plays with 2x AA on
