Can't view .wmv files....

I don't understand this but I can't view any .wmv files for some reason. I hear the sound, just can't see the video. It does this in both Windows Media Player as well as Real Player. All other video files, however, still work just fine. It's only the .wmv files.

Any suggestions?

Are you behind a firewall? I guess what I should really ask is whether you're at work 😉

Yes, I"m at work, lol! Why would they keep me from viewing wmv's but not the other ones, though? Also, they work for everyone else in the office.

You can get more insight on what might be going on at this page at Microsoft, if you're interested: http://www.microsoft.com/windo...ia/serve/firewall.aspx

As for why they might want to keep you from receiving that format, streaming media can wreak more havoc than you imagine on the network performance. Why it works for the others is a good question... what version of Windows and WMP do you have, and what version of Windows and WMP do the other employees have? But my suggestion is to ask your IT person whether it's a deliberate policy, or what the deal is.
